Cervicofacial lymphatic malformations: diagnosis and management

Abstract Background Lymphatic malformations are rare benign tumors that result from congenital and acquired alterations of the lymphatic vessels. They occur most commonly on head neck region. The aim this study is to describe clinical profiles (LMHN) as well therapeutic modalities through our series review literature. Results This a retrospective record-based descriptive conducted in ENT Radiology departments over 17-year period. Our included twelve patients, aged between 8 months 52 years. Two swellings were present at birth had not been prenatally diagnosed both cases. One patient was affected by TRISOMY 21. All patients consulted for painless mass or neck. Seven masses located suprahyoid region five infrahyoid Ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) realized establish diagnosis assess extent lesions. Surgical excision performed 7 patients. It complete 6 Five treated with sclerotherapy. sclerosing agents used Aetoxisclerol 2%, hypertonic saline, absolute alcohol. reversible paresis left mental nerve after surgery. An excellent response sclerotherapy resolution obtained 3 cases no recurrence disease.
